Rogue Challenge – The Mule

A. 21, 15, 9 rep rounds for time of:

Deadlift – 315#/225#
Chest to Bar Pull-ups

B. Spend 15 minutes stretching and rolling.

I loved this morning’s Intro! My first class, ever, and it was so much fun. Thanks, guys!


Well 315 is a challenge for me when I haven’t taken 15 months away from lifting, so this was hard. Full disclosure, I used a belt and my wrist wrap/grip thingies for the deadlift or I probably wasn’t going to finish. 12:12.

Well… that was interesting. Went in with the mindset of scaling the DL but things just felt good today! Until they didn’t…

At the emotional 10:00 cap was in the round of 15 with 4 pull-ups remaining. That’s when my hands could no longer defeat the monster known as gravity anymore! Finished that round with some ring rows and then I let ego take over as everyone was being super good at the whole, “Lifting Ourselves and One Another” thing and cheered me on to a post-Covid fluffy 9RM at 315#. I then tried (and gloriously failed) another pull-up before finishing out the remaining 9 ring rows!

DL reps: 7/4/4/3/3, 5/3/3/2/2, 9!
Pull-ups: All singles 🙄
