Ohhh man that workout was rough. As per usually in the running workouts I finished last… I kept telling myself that I was only going to do 4 rounds because I was dying but then I convinced myself to do the last round lol.

I’m still proud of myself because I did RX for the OHS so that’s something that was positive!

Thanks Josh!

Classic Crossfit workout – go throw some weight over your head while gasping for air. BUT, so many nuggets of gold in this one.
– I was able to REALLY feel (and then work on) the effect of position and balance. I know that sounds obvious but it’s REALLY obvious when your legs are tired in round 4 and you nail the OHS position and you easily stand back up vs. having to use 10 more stabilizing muscles just so you don’t fall over – now THAT feels like crap. I know Brett harps on efficiency of movement but WOW it couldn’t have been more clear today.
– Running – from round 3 onwards – sucked. BUT, with tired legs I noticed that by keeping it light on the feet, and not lumbering around like a bear, and also lengthening the end of the stride (think, push off with a longer leg), it made me run faster and with more ease when I was gassed. Just ask Erica Sharpe – she passed me in the OHS but I passed her on the run (OK, only for round 2…)…you get the point.

Lastly, I set a target for 3 rounds unbroken for the OHS, but managed to do all 5 unbroken and Rx, which feels like a milestone for me and my chicken legs.

Again, what a beautiful day, with beautiful people. Thanks Josh.

Oops. Time was 15:17 Was hoping to be sub-15 but maybe next time.

12:21 Rx’d.
Legs felt pretty heavy on the runs after all the squats we’ve been doing lately. OHS felt good, all unbroken, tried to run right to the bar and start lifting immediately each round.
Thanks Ragnar!

16:40? 17:40?

I cared but I didn’t. I’m no negative Nancy. I was so focused on the opportunity to get my feet to accept a faster pace. I almost forgot about my feet for a few glorious minutes this morning. Enjoyed the beautiful weather and the opportunity to run with friends that want to be better.

OHS: Used 85# and never broke up the reps which was great for consistency and speed. My OHSs were some of the best I’ve experienced since starting CrossFit.

This was the second or third workout I did when I started. It felt way more awful the first time. I’m a totally different athlete today. Still improving, getting stronger and enjoying the process even more. I’m surrounded by great people and coaches. What a difference 3+ years makes for mind, body and spirit.
