Well, I thought this was going to be fun (I even got up early to join 6am so I could WOD with you’all before work), but fun is not the word I would use to describe this…………..I also thought the pull-ups would be the challenging part, WRONG AGAIN…………….. “light” thrusters shouldn’t be too bad…………………..WRONG……………geezuz, you think I would have learned by now!!!!!!

I did 35# for the squats and tried to do butterfly pull ups but some were just regular kipping pull ups

Hey Coach, it doesn’t hurt as bad if you don’t go so fast. That was clearly my strategy today.

Thrusters rx’d – at this weight I found it easier if I consciously went slower with these. Big set of 25 to start and then mostly 10’s for the remainder.
Subbed ring rows for pull-ups as shoulder still a little wonky and hanging doesn’t feel awesome. These got way harder than I was expecting.

13:33 with 35# thrusters
Got a huge rip at the start of my last set of pull-ups so finished the last 17 pull-ups as ring rows.
I felt like I managed a decent pace for most of it and am kind of sad I didn’t finish all the pull-ups as prescribed. The pull-ups were definitely harder than the thrusters when I was doing them. I love these couplet style workouts!

Thrusters:
50 slow and unbroken front squat/press
11/7/4/4/4
10/6/4
Pull-ups:
1/1/1/1… to 50
1/1/1… to 15 (half reps)
1/1/1… to 10 (half reps)
I actually had to walk my arms up the rig post for my first rep in the round of 50… 🤨
Thanks OG.

All kipping pull-ups for me with controlled and disciplined movement practices ensuring good reps.
I can move through light weight thrusters a pretty decent pace but that doesn’t for a second mean I like them.
