That was fun! First time with Grace (I think). Started with 7 touch ‘n go and then moved to singles for the rest. Tried to keep moving but reps 20-26 were tough!

Had intended to go heavier (not Rx’d!) but have tight shoulders a new triceps (as Adamo will attest) so wasn’t going to happen!
Still 14lbs heavier than the time before and split time was 2:24, so pretty consistent with the moves, so will take that

Happy with tonight, except that I hit my chin on my third jerk. Not only did it hurt, it messed with me for the rest of WOD.

Again… I will eventually learn how not to shoulder press the last 10 reps of every damn workout.

Without Greg in the side view mirror just smashing the shit out of the bar, Cody hot on our heels and Ken laughing at my lack of technique it would have been much slower. New goal of sub 2 min.

Compete to be better… Good advice right there.

Better pacing strategy and I think sub 2 is pretty feasible. Next time touch and go for the first 10-15 reps and delay going to singles as long as possible.

A) only had a few minutes at work so did death by DB thrusters 30#. Made it to to 17rds+ 14 reps 167 reps total. Did 3 sets of 11 afterwards for an even 200.
B) Deadlift 3×5 250#
C) strict MU work from a sitting position on the floor. Started with a bent arm 5×5
D) plank holds 1 min rest 1 min x3


110# – my usual weight since 2012
4:15 – PR by 2:14
Grace through the years at 110#:
2012 – 7:22 (did split jerks because I thought push jerks would be too hard)
2012 – 9:25 (did push jerks and paced them as if they were hard)
2012 – 8:14 (did push jerks then switched to split jerks because I felt PJs had gotten too hard)
2013 – 6:40 (decided to stop worrying and love the push jerk)
2013 – 6:29 (push jerks are my friend)
2016 – 4:15 (embraced touch & go push jerks for as long as possible, used the 35# bar but still at #110, had Karen counting to free up my attention, followed Storbakken’s coaching to split jerk the last rep)

I will be using a 35# for everything but DL from now on.

First time actually doing “Grace”

I’ve done Double Grace in class, and Hang a Grace in intro but have never done “Grace”

there gets to a point where I crash in the middle of the workout and try to hold on but just can’t seem to get myself to move any faster.

The only feeling I can equate post-Grace to, is the feeling of post 50-cal test on the bike….
