Question about FGB!
I am not sure if anyone noticed this, but I made a donation for my in-laws since they didn’t want to put their credit card on the website. At the same time I added an amount of our own. Together, I put through $85. I just checked on my credit card and $94.21 was charged. That means that what’s on the website is US$ even though it’s going to a Canadian organization. This might really tick people off when they see that their dollar amount has just increased because of the currency exchange. What do I tell people when they realize that??? I really don’t think it is right to have that happen!

I have just emailed the Director of Customer Service for FGB regarding this as I noticed the exact same thing on my credit card. I will keep you posted when I get more information.

Erin, I also sent an email to FGB this morning (not sure who exactly it went to) mentioning it / complaining about it. Hopefully our voices will be heard!
I have also added a note to my fundraising page as close to the “donate” link as I could, saying that they are entering a dollar amount in US funds.
If I hear anything more regarding this, I will be sure to post it!

I’ve also had complaints from my friends about the lack of any indication of security protocols to protect the credit card numbers on the donation page. I’m sure they are there, but for peace of mind a banner or something would be nice. I e-mailed the company, no reply yet, but i’ll keep you everyone posted if/when they reply.

W.O.D

Scaled to 20Ibs after initial attempt at 30Ibs.

Time: 28:49

Poor all round. Need better recovery and maybe a diet change.

As rx’d…33:40. Had a better time in March. Hmmm, might be because of the timing of the exercise w/ food. I’m doing the WOD’S later in the morning…may have a berring

1 round as rx’d, rounds 2 through 7 with 25lbs.

27:25

FGB4ers! i have taken this direct to our contact at CF/FGB… will let you know the response if you have not heard back from your emails!

22:46
10 lbs

24:45 as rx’ed (finally!)
Liked this one, in a sick Crossfit kind of way.
Great music Erin!!

15:55 as rx’d…a good improvement from last time so I’m happy…good job tonight everyone

As for the FGB payment info, this is the response I got:

Actually, your donors are making a donation to a U.S. charity, Sportsgrants Inc.  We are the 501c3 non-profit organization that produces FGB IV.  All donations go through us on behalf of FGB IV and will ultimately be donated to the benefiting charities, including Prostate Cancer Canada.  Adding a Canadian charity made this a unique situation.

We will report and donate to Prostate Cancer Canada the amount we receive in US dollars.  They in turn will issue tax-exempt receipts to all Canadian donors.  I realize it is kind of round-about, but this has been agreed to by all parties.  I don’t know if you lose anything due to the current exchange rate.

Canadian details are found here:  http://www.fgb4.org/canadian-regionscontacts/

Started with 20 lbs – switched to 15 in the middle of the 2nd set
24:08
Last done March 2008 – 15 lbs – 28:27
Don’t get winded – just can’t lock-out the split jerk without rests, even at 15 lbs.

22:51 using 15 lb DB’s
My time in March was 31:19 using 15lbs for 2 rds, 12lbs for 4 rds and 10lbs for last round. I’m very happy with my progress.

26:02 as rx’d.

It took me until round 4 to realize I was splitting a lot more than I needed to. Once I minimized that things went a bit quicker. Last time I did this it took 31:46, but it was still too slow this time.

Alvaro, after the Ave Maria almost put me to sleep in round 5, your music privileges are revoked.

20:37 as rx’d

25:24 with 10#

28:12 with 15# (last time 23:35 with 10#)
Was hoping for the same time with more weight. Body is still struggling with new diet. It’s only day 4, and even though I basically feel good, I run out of energy very quickly and get dizzy way too fast. It was really hard for me to finish the WOD today. The room was spinning waaaay too much for my liking!

15:55 as rx’d…great job tonight everyone!
