“Filty Fitfies”

1 Round for time:

 

50 Box Jump, 24 inch box

50 Jumping Pull-ups

50 KB Swings, 1 pood

50 Walking Lunges

50 Knees to Elbows

50 Push Press, 45 lbs

50 Back Extensions

50 Wallballs, 20/14 lbs ball

50 Burpees

50 Double Unders

On Saturday Oct. 10 and Sunday Oct. 11 CFC will be hosting an Olympic Lifitng certification therefore, a modified class schedule will be in effect.  Sat. Oct. 10 member and drop-in class time will be 7:45 am and CFC Kids class time will be 8:45 am.  Sun. Oct. 11 the modified schedule will be;  member and drop-in class time at 8:30 am and Targeted training course at 4:00 pm.

Notice – Due to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday on Mon. Oct. 12 the holiday class schedule will be in effect.  The 9:30 am and 6:00 pm classes will be available for member or drop in attendance.

Did not finish.
I’ve done this WOD before with prescribed wt. or in prescribed order but not both. It turns out I can’t hit the line with a 20 lb wallball after doing push presses.
Switched to 14 lbs but nausea had already set in. Pulled the plug.
Finished off with 50 burps and 50 double overs.


38:00 partially rx’d. See below for modified stations.
That was the most horrible thing I’ve done in a long time! It was a humbling experience that’s for sure! I’m thankful that tomorrow is a rest day.

BJ – 20 inches
K2E – I think my knees touched my elbows 5 times!
WB’s – the first 30 (14#) not one touched the line. Couldn’t find a 12# so pushed my way through with 14 until one was available. but by then I already felt defeated!


This WOD is aptly named…K2E weren’t happening today, knees were no where in the vicinity of the knees & the grip wasn’t great, either. Sub’d tuck jumps for the DU’s, had nothing left…38:09 (argh)


ALMOST as rx’d! got my first box jump at 24″ today..I really didn’t think I could jump that high… just need to get my K2E down… not quite touching yet.

Thanks Katie for getting me through the burpees and DUs ..seriously, I think I might have still been there otherwise! 😀

K2E – apparantly mine were more K2Triceps – will have to do better next time!
KB swings ugh!! these are tough for me – broken into 10’s and 5’s, WB’s SLOW!
and holy – burpees!!! by this point my chest was screaming, then to do the DUs – think I could only string 1 round of 10 together, the rest were 2s, & 3s… but I did it!!!!

9:30am class. Tremendous work by everyone today! Great group to workout with.


38:15 I think (???)…couldn’t see straight after that WOD to read the clock. Not even close to as rx’d. K2E need some work, yikes. Everyone at the 9:30am class was so inspiring – it kept me going!


40:01 substantially modified

Box Jumps to 15″ box
Jumping Pull ups with 25 lb plate on the box. Should be using just a 15″ box for these.
K 2 E = high knees
Push Press – 32 lbs (I’ve done this WO with 45 lbs in the past but not today)
Wall Balls – 10 lb ball for first 40 and 8 lb ball for final 10
Double Unders – included attempts in count

Felt dizzy most of the way through. On a liver cleanse so my body probably just didn’t have the resources for this.


As Rx’d: 26:74.


35:?? as rx’d – ohh this is such a hard workout! As usual, the K2E killed me. I had to do these in snail pace singles. Wallballs and burpies were awful too. But YAY it’s done and I improved by a minute or so. Thanks DJ and way to go everyone this am – it was a treat to be at the 9:30 class again.

ouch, pretty much as Rx’d, just maybe some form breaks.. Repeated failed KtoE’s

Burpies.. Used the genuflect to chest method. There seems to be some conflict on the standard. My interpretation is:
Chest must hit the ground
Clap must be while vertical with the arms covering the ears or behind.
Whatever happens in between does not matter.
If there is to be a different CFC standard.. this must be addressed prior to any workouts.


Severly modified due to generalized laziness (I just throw in the injury excuse just ‘cuz)
KB .7 pod, Situps for K2E, DB15# push press & thrusters (for wallball)
Burpees – no chest component, just kicked the legs out and hoped they came back.

I was aiming for sub 26:00. I’m undecided if I feel like pushed as hard as I could or if my mind shut me down. I was certainly gassed as bad as I’ve ever been… hm, except maybe at fight gone bad. I usually like burpees! Filthy fifthy burpees are a different breed. Meaner.

Anyway, looking forward to next time to kill my time.

26:32 as rx’d.

Hmm, I’m on the board from last time at 25:33, but my actual time was 25:53 last time. So I feel a bit better about only being 40 seconds slower. I can think of a few spots where I may have lost that extra time. Partly because I’m pretty sure I eased off the last 10 burpees a bit when I knew I wasn’t going to PR.

Wallballs seemed better today, but K2E and burpees were still bad. I think I slowed down on back extensions too.


As rx’d 31:10 a bit slower than last time but can say all K to E were legit! As always a great workout! Great job by everybody in the 5 pm class!


Hughie, I’m sure my thoughts on burpees standards are well known, but I feel allowing those cheater burpees was a bad idea in the first place. However, if there was ever an appropriate place for them it would probably be the filthy fifties.

But really, if you think about them, what do you get out of doing them that way? Sure, it does seem to be faster sometimes, but it doesn’t improve your fitness level at all. In fact, I am more rested after doing a set than I was before I started the burpees. To me that just doesn’t seem appropriate…
