Split Jerk (alternate leg forward each rep) – 135#/95#

Box Jump – 36”/24”

Last round of jerks was 4+2+1+1+1+1 so weight was about right or maybe even too heavy. Failed a few jerks too.


2 set of 2 strict pull ups no band no jump :D Finally did it!!! That’s my WOD. Still staying away from people, don’t want to get anyone sick.


What can you say about courage? How can you put a name to it? All I can say is three words- TEAM BLUE BALLS!!!!! Yah baby….when a group of superb athletes can be slaughtered at least 7 games in a row and still say bring it on…we will get them next game…that is true heroism and it is this special group that forms Team Blue Balls thats fits the bill! Valiant efforts were put forth by all and of course we won hands down in looks. Some concern came to the fore concerning the Head Hunter - Cody. He seemed to be on a mission to decapitate this old soldier when we switched teams for some fun games. The look of blood lust in his eyes was quite concerning and we thought we might have to get out the tranquilizer darts to calm him down …if not for my Jedi powers I might have needed a trip to the hospital :) Thanks to the mob that showed up tonight your spirit and passion is only surpassed by your good looks and athletic ability. Up the Mighty BLUE BALLS….Victory will be ours.

Used 42 llbs for the split jerk and alternated between 5 sets of step ups and 5 box jumps for the box jumps on a 20″ box.
Fun class and great coaching Jason! Loved all the tips and encouragement!


As Old Guy said it, team Blue Balls showed a lot of…. HEART tonight! Awesome showing too! Dodgeball is so much fun even when we get slaughtered. Until next week!!!


Back Squats at 180#. The Progression continues. 5 pound increase every time. This is the beginning of week 3. 3 sets of five.

Wod of today as rx’d 22:24. Box jumps were really high! The new guys Bobby and Dane i think were helping out at the end. Thanks for the encouragement. Off course they finished like 10 min ahead of me!!!
The Hulk is getting old.


went with 24″ box jumps and regular push jerks - the knees have been under a lot of stress lately

At Crossfit Canmore today

A: Front Squats = very sore wrists
Round 1: 1 squat every 15 secs x 5 x 70% of max back squat without putting the bar down between squats
Rest 1 min
Round 2: 1 squat every 30 secs x 4 x 75% of max back squat without putting the bar down between squats
Rest 2 min
Round 3: 1 squat every 45 secs x 3 x 80% of max back squat without putting the bar down between squats
3 min rest
Round 4: 1 squat every 60 secs x 2 x 85% of max back squat without putting the bar down between squats

B: Deadlift with max front squat weight from previous exercise & bar facing burpees (burpee jump over bar burpee)
2 rounds x 12 Deadlifts & 24 burpees

Fun WOD. The box is nice and cozy.

18:58 at 75lb, used wooden box plus 4×45 bumpers for ~36″.


11:32 started with 52lbs but had to drop to 42 lbs with 10 left of the 20 set. Just couldn’t get under it properly.

Time not sure, but in 10ish minute range

First time doing split jerks since intro, will use heavier weight next time
