Introductory Classes

Join us and learn the basic CrossFit movements and fundamentals.
No prior fitness experience or conditioning necessary.

We offer specialized introductory instruction to ensure everyone who trains at CFC is safe and adequately prepared for the WODs. CrossFit is built on a comprehensive understanding of functional movement. Learning the proper mechanics of these natural movements allows one to safely and effectively progress their fitness.

These classes will teach the proper way to do bodyweight movements like the squat, push-up, sit-up and pull-up. You’ll also learn how to safely and effectively add weight to movements with a barbell, dumbbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, and the like. You will be properly introduced to technical lifts like the shoulder press and push press, back squat, and front squat, and Olympic lifts, including the clean-and-jerk. The overall design is purposeful and progressive in nature allowing us to continually built the mechanics of these movements.

Your first drop-in visit is on us! Afterwards, either a Foundations session or the Intro to CrossFit program is mandatory for all new members to participate in group classes.

The best way to get into CrossFit

Express Intro Program

Newly revised to get you training quicker! Over a 2 hour session you’ll get in-depth coaching on the fundamentals of CrossFit, so you can reap the full benefits of our classes and community sooner.

You’ll learn the proper technique for the movements most commonly seen in a CrossFit class, and lay the foundations for more advanced exercises. You’ll get expert coaching on squatting, jumping, pushing and pulling, and proper positions for lifting weights.

The workouts are scaled to be challenging but accessible for all members of the class. Our coaches will ensure you’ve learned proper movements and techniques before ramping up the intensity. By the end of the two hour session you’ll be more than ready to jump in to our classes and community.

Foundations Session

A private fast-track into CrossFit

A private Foundations Session will cover the fundamentals needed to participate in a CrossFit Calgary group class. During the session, one of our expert coaches will assess your physical capabilities and coach you based on your individual needs. This session is only recommended for those individuals who already have previous CrossFit experience.

A Foundations session is the minimum requirement for all new members and drop-ins and must be booked after your first visit. These sessions are private (one-on-one) and can be scheduled at your convenience. Foundations Sessions do not run on statutory holidays.

Monday-Sunday: mornings, afternoons and evenings.

*If upon completion a membership is signed the $125 fee is waived.
